David Johns

If creative vision and an entrepreneurial spirit define the EMPIRE brand, General Manager David Johns keeps the business ticking over from year to year. Trained as a stockbroker with an accounting and finance background, David joined Empire over 19 years ago as a shop assistant. Quickly realising he loved selling and loved meeting new people, “Johnsy” became a jack of all trades in the organisation. On any given day you’ll find him unloading shipping containers, managing finances, organising distribution of stock, and hiring new staff. It’s the logistics of selling that continues to fascinate David – buying, pricing, advertising and, most of all, customer relations.
